    Description

Restored and reprinted in their original format, here are the only known 1890 -1891 kings crown glass and oil lamp catalog pages from the Adams & Co. Pittsburgh, PA.  Known during the era as "Excelsior" or simply "X.L.C.R.",  the original 18 page catalog illustrates about 80 different pieces of kings crown glassware, both plain and engraved. Era drawings of each piece are exactly one half their actual size, or 1/2 scale.  Six additional pages of new research and original illustrations detail the 15 different sizes of kings crown oil lamps produced by Adams & Co. in the spring of 1891.  Quotes from 1890 and 1891 trade publications, further document the production of kings crown glassware and oil lamps by Adams & Co. and later by the United States Glass Co.  Reprinted catalog pages and illustrations, clearly identify each piece produced in 1890, the first year of production.  New research, quotes, and measurements, allow the reader to identify the different sizes, sets, and types of 1891 kings crown oil lamps manufactured.
First available this year, "Collecting 1890 -1891 Kings Crown Glassware and Lamps" is printed in black and white on quality paper.  Each restored catalog page is printed in its original landscape format to maintain the original precise 1/2 scale size of each piece.  It is 11" x 8 1/2" in size, spiral bound, 28 pages, with illustrations, text, charts, and covers.
The restoration and reprinting of the 1890 Excelsior glass and lamp catalog with additional illustrations and dimensions adds to the knowledge of the Early American Pressed Glass (E.A.P.G) kings crown pattern.  The section on kings crown oil lamps is based on new lamp discoveries and research conducted over the past ten years.
This publication is a virtual "road map" of early kings crown production suitable for the beginning collector.  It contains information that may even surprise the most advanced kings crown or "Excelsior" collector.
