    1937 PLATT & MUNK CO. # 230-D "GOING ABROAD DOLLS TO CUT OUT AND DRESS" DESIGNED BY GLADYS DE BEAULIEU
    I have been working on liquidating my late sisters collections and many of you who
    have been following my listings and I wish to THANK YOU, ALL!!
    I HAVE FUN
    SEARCHING THROUGH ALL OF HER INTERESTING FINDS! This
    paper doll BOXED SET HAS 2 PAPER DOLLS THAT INCLUDE MARY LOU AND FLORENCE.  Mary Lou and Florence are 10-inch tall paper dolls that do have built-on easel stands.  The clothing for this set has been cut out, except for one of Mary Lou's costumes.  If the set was ever played with it was very gentle as the tabs on the clothing don't even appear to have been bent.  On the fold down tabs of the clothing is marked the name of the doll of which the clothes belong to, so there can be no mix-up in the clothing.   I did find one extra dress for Mary Lou after taking my photos so that dress will also be included.  The paper dolls are in SUPERB CONDITION especially when it is taken into account that the set is from 1937, that is over 83 years old!!  Mary Lou does have a slight crease mark on her legs.   This set was designed by artist GLADYS de BEAULIEU, a name I tried researching but found no information on her.    This set is #230-D by Platt & Munk Co.  The original box for this set is in very good condition.
