    1949 SAALFIELD CO. "PEGGY A STAND ALONE DOLL" CLOTHING IS UNCUT DOLL IS HEAVY BOARD DOLL
    This is JUST ONE OF MANY BOXED SETS OF PAPER DOLLS FOUND IN MY late sister's collections.
    This is SAALFIELD'S "PEGGY A STAND ALONE DOLL" PAPER DOLL BOXED set that dates to 1949.  PEGGY is a 8 7/8-inch tall doll that still has  her original stand included.   NONE OF THE CLOTHING IN THIS SET HAS CUT OUT.  This set was published by the Saalfield Publishing Company.   PEGGY has been off-cut, meaning when cut at the factory they did not cut where it was supposed to be cut.  As you may see her one leg is a bit thinner than the other with a small portion of her sock also missing.  The doll also has some foxing marks on her over paper.  The clothing for Peggy though is Excellent and is ready to cut out.  The original box shows only minor wear on it.
