    1953 ORIGINAL BOXED SET #5177 "BIRTHDAY PARTY PAPER DOLLS" 6 PAPER DOLLS
    This is JUST ONE OF MANY BOXED SETS OF PAPER DOLLS FOUND IN MY late sister's collections.
    This is SAALFIELD'S "BIRTHDAY PARTY PAPER DOLLS" BOXED set that dates to 1953.  Three of the six dolls are named: BETSY, SUSAN, AND JUDY.   The other 3 doll are named: CONNIE, ALICE, AND MARY, by the previous owner.  Someone has taken the time to write the names of the dolls' on their backs.  The clothing in the set is marked only with a first initial of the doll so it can be separated that way.  As can be seen when looking at the photos, 2 of the dolls have experienced loss of an appendage.  Susan has a taped on arm and her hand is in the box and needs reattached.  Connie too has part of one arm detached that is also still in the box.  I have separated the dolls' clothing and taken a photo of each separately.  The doll's are each 7 1/4 inches tall and there is6 cardboard stands for the dolls in the box.  Five of the stands are original and 1 is homemade.  The original box has some wear with 2 top corners of the lid that are split, there are also some puncture wounds in the lid as well.
