Vintage, original, rare, look-through cover, authorized edition of Barbara Britton. Copyright by Barbara Britton shown on inside. Not a reproduction. Artist’s name Betty Campbell appears on fourth page of fashions. I remember my amazement the first time I saw this book with five tall dolls, each in a different pose and fashions for each of them. Barbara was discovered in 1941 while appearing in the Tournament of Roses Parade. She starred in numerous westerns alongside Randolph Scott, Joel McCrea and Gene Autry, such as “Captain Kidd”, “Gunfighters”, “The Virginian” and “Loaded Pistols”. She also appeared on TV in “Mr. and Mrs. North” and “Head of the Family”, the 1959 pilot for the “Dick van Dyke Show”. She was also a mayor, or honorary mayor, of Hollywood and the Revlon make-up spokeswoman in the 50’s and 60’s. She was also on the soap opera “One Life to Live” in 1979. In 1949, a newspaper stated Barbara had been on the cover of more magazines than any other motion picture actress. She appeared on 100 covers of “Ladies Home Journal”, “Woman’s Home Companion” and “McCalls” in two year’s time. Information from the Internet.Thank you for your interest. Happy to answer questions.
