antique EAPG clear glass HEISEY PEERLESS #300 round BUTTER DISH dome 1899

Description

Offered for sale is a beautiful antique glass round BUTTER DISH made by Heisey. The pattern is called PEERLESS, but the original name is just its item number, Heisey #300. The Peerless pattern was introduced in 1899. It is a colonial style pattern, with multiple smooth panels and a scalloped edge.
The butter dish base measures 7 3/4 inches (19.7cm) in diameter. The lid measures 5 1/4 inches (13.3cm) in diameter at the rim, and the whole thing stands 6 1/2 inches (16.5cm) tall to the top of the finial knob. A U.S. quarter is shown in pictures 2 and 3, to give an accurate impression of the size at a glance.
It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, scratches or repairs, and no discoloration or cloudiness in the glass. The Heisey diamond H mark is visible in the center of the butter base AND inside the lid, just under the finial. A patent or registration number (P. No. 350876) appears above the H mark on the lid.
