    Description

    This is a
Crystal Queen Celery Tray made by the Northwood Glass Company at their Indiana, Pennsylvania plant ca. 1897
    .
    It is 8 1/4" long, 5 7/8" wide, about 1 3/4" deep, and weighs 1.50 lbs
    .
There were some 125-odd pieces in the line when the Crystal Queen pattern was introduced by Northwood in 1897 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Queen Victoria's
    ascension
to the throne; and this celery tray was one of them.  When Cambridge (as part of the U.S. Glass conglomerate) reintroduced the pattern in 1903 (using the original molds) there were only 25 pieces in the line (#2589) and this celery tray was not one of them.  So it can be said with confidence that this piece was made by Northwood, and not Cambridge.
There is a tiny bit of high point wear to the base, but otherwise it is in very good vintage condition and has no fleabites. nicks, chips, cracks, flakes, bruises, scratches, hairlines, or repairs.

I do my best to describe an item as completely as I can, and do my best to take the best photographs possible, so please look at all the pictures before you bid because they are an integral  part of the description and in the end are the best and final description. If you would like to see a close-up of something or something else about an item, please email me and I will be glad to do that for you if possible or if time allows.
PLEASE NOTE: photographs are taken of every item before, during, and after it is packed and ready to be shipped as documentation in the unlikely event something happens in transit
    .
My first priority in shipping is to pack things well enough so that when they get to you they are undamaged and look the same as they do in the listing photographs.  T
he final shipping weight is usually what it is estimated to be in the listing but if I am able to get something packed -and packed  well- under the estimated shipping weight then I will issue you a refund.
I will be happy to combine shipping, even on items ending on different days, but to do so
you must not pay for any of the items until you have been sent a new invoice with everything combined.
    Thi
s is because once an item is payed for Ebay requires that tracking be uploaded on that invoice within a certain period of time; otherwise they penalize the seller.  So,
please do not pay for any of the items you'd like combined until you receive a new invoice
    . Also,
please email me and let me know that you'd like to combine items that end on different days
    should you win them.
In general I only ship within the continental United States and Canada and do not ship internationally, but may do so on a case by case basis. Please email and ask if you are not in the USA or Canada and are interested in bidding on an item. Please note, however, that it is eBay's policy that
once an item has received a bid the listing cannot be changed
.  So, if there is a bid on an item then it will not be possible to open the bidding to others.  If an item can be opened to International bidders it will
    ONLY
be opened to those in countries eligible for eBay's Global Shipping Program and will only be shipped using eBay's Global Shipping Option.
The default shipping options on most items are Priority Mail, Parcel Select, and Media Mail and the shipping charge is automatically calculated by eBay
.  For small, lightweight items (like ephemera or small items that will fit safely into an envelope or a small box, a flat rate fee of .50 is charged, which covers packing, postage, and tracking.  All paper items are shipped sealed in an acid-free, water proof cover.
In order to insure that every transaction is a perfect one, everything is shipped with tracking
    and only
to an eBay-confirmed shipping address; and, as mention above,
    p
hotographs are taken before, during, and after pack
ing in the unlikely event that such
    documentation is needed.  If
the final auction price of an item is over 0.00, then signature confirmation (which I will pay for) is required.
NOTE: Payment must be received within 5 days of the close of the auction.
    Thank you for looking.
