    Description

    Offered for sale is a large antique OPEN COMPOTE made by Duncan's Sons & Co.  The pattern name is FLOWERED SCROLL, which is also known as
    Duncan's Sons & Co.
    #2000.  Pattern consists of raised flowers and whimsical curving leaves set against a paneled background (picture 4).  The stem has a twist.  This pattern was introduced in 1893.  It has a scalloped rim, and was likely not meant to have a lid.
    The compote
    measures 7 inches (17.8cm) in diameter at the rim, and
    stands
    7 inches (17.8cm)
    tall.  A U.S. quarter is shown in the first three pictures, to give an accurate impression of the size at a glance.
    The compote is in great condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.  There is no discoloration or cloudiness in the glass. Some barely-visible scratches are present on the interior surfaces.
