EAPG antique ATHENIA reverse 44 FOOTED BOWL U.S. Glass 1912 crystal #15140

Description

Offered for sale is a lovely antique bowl made by U.S. Glass Co. It has the ATHENIA pattern, also called Reverse 44, and U.S. Glass gave it the number #15140. This pattern was made in 1912. It is quite tall and deep. It has eight smooth panels, and a fancy border with flowers and a deeply pressed pattern that looks a bit like forward and backward figure fours. It stands on four curved feet (picture 5). This pattern is often found with platinum trim on the border, but this one is all clear glass, with no metallic decoration or stain.
The bowl measures 8 1/2 inches (21.6cm) in diameter, and the bowl stands 4 1/4 inches (13.3cm) tall at the rim. A U.S. quarter is shown in the first three pictures, to give an accurate impression of the size at a glance.
The bowl is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs, and no discoloration or cloudiness. There are shear marks present, and faint-but-noticeable scratches on the interior surfaces.
