Description
Kentucky Cruet Clear with original Stopper #15051. Non-Flint Manufactured by U.S. Glass, Pittsburgh PA.circa 1897 at Factory “K” King.
The cruet is clear and any colors you see in the photographs are reflections from the indoors where I photographed the piece. Clarity and color of the class is excellent. The cruet has the bubbles, straw marks, and waviness common to Early American Pressed Glass. There is one tiny area of cloudiness or residue in the inside bottom please refer to photos. Note there were also some small white spots of paint that I removed since I photographed the cruet. This is the original stopper although it rocks a little bit. There is wear to the vertical fan portions of the design and one small chip on petaled collar above fan design near mold line. On the mold line beneath the pressed handle there is also a small chip. One of the tiny diamond motifs between fans is dinged. The stopper has minor mold roughness at the mold lines. The base shows wear commensurate with age.
Weight before packing 15.70 oz. Please email with questions or comments. This pattern is very similar to Millard #15016 some researchers speculate that the molds were retooled to produce Kentucky #15051.
