Description
Up for auction is a Scarce, Original Signed 10-page Typescript of an early story by noted American novelist and short-story writer Erskine Caldwell (1903-1987), “August Afternoon”.The undated (circa-1940s?) typed story is on 10 single onionskin pages and boldly signed by
Caldwell
on the last page.
This story appeared in the premiere issue of Esquire Magazine, September 1, 1933, published the same year as his acclaimed novel, God’s Little Acre.
Very good plus condition with upper left corner staple holes and minor wear with original mailing folds.
