Reed 4C-A Vise, Refurbished, Excellent, 165 lbs, Made in USA

Description

This is a very, very nice Reed 4C-A vise that has been completely and thoroughly refurbished. All parts were present and in very solid condition. The date is difficult to see, but I believe the vise to have been manufactured in the mid- to late- 1970’s, judging from the date of other vises I purchased from this company.  The vise was completely disassembled and the painted parts were stripped to bare metal and primed and painted with multiple coats of rust resistant paint. The non painted parts were carefully and thoroughly cleaned, the moving parts were greased and the vise was reassembled. The jaw inserts are reversible, but I did not reverse them. The bottom of these inserts are sharp and clean and would appear new if reversed. The tops do show some dings and dents (see photos) but nothing serious. This is a professional heavy duty tool that should last a lifetime. This particular model is getting very difficult to find, especially one in this condition. There are very few dings and no filler was used in restoring this tool.
