Refurbished Scherr-Tumico 6 Inch Dial Caliper with Case

Description

This Scherr-Tumico dial caliper is excellent. I don't lead with that statement because I'm selling it and want your hard earned money. I have repaired hundreds, if not thousands, of dial calipers. Most lesser known brands use cheap metals or plastic in the dial assembly. This Japanese made gem is made with materials and with a design right on par with early Mitutoyo models.
I took great care refurbishing this .001" increment, 6.000" range dial caliper. Every part was sonic cleaned then washed in naptha to eliminate any moisture left over. The gear rack was carefully brushed to clear any debris. The pinion gear was cleaned by pushing into pith wood, as it's the best way to properly clean such a small gear. A new crystal was installed after an expert reassembly and then the caliper was tested to ensure accuracy and repeatability through the entire range.
Most sellers say a caliper "works great" because it opens and closes relatively smooth. I put the time in to make sure you don't scrap a part due to inaccurate tooling.
Whether you're measuring ODs, IDs or Depths, this dial caliper will give you accurate readings you can rely on for years to come, if not abused.
It comes with a case for storage, which is stained and looks ugly as hell but will protect your caliper very well. It is packaged with great care, with the measuring faces NOT touching, and ready to ship next business day, same day if time allows.
