THE PAPER DOLL HOUSE "CURLY TOP PAPER DOLL WITH HAIR" AUBURN VERSION
I am still working on liquidating my late sisters collections and many of you who have been following my listings and I wish to THANK YOU, ALL!  Since I am not a collector I do have to apologize for my lack of knowledge on this subject.  If I have grossly misstated anything in the description it is fine if you want to correct me.  I am now working on a 'new' bundle of paper dolls and other items that I just took into my possession, have fun exploring them right along with me!!
This is another PAPER DOLL SET from my sister's HUGE personal collection.   This is the FIRST PAPER DOLL SET I HAVE LISTED THAT IS MARKED FROM 'THE PAPER DOLL HOUSE'.  That was the name of the company with designs by Alma DeJournette BEFORE the name was changed to the DeJournette Mfg. Company in the 1940's.  The Curly Top dolls first patent application dates to 1936.  The sets were not given a number, but to better identify them the reference guide I use has given them illustration numbers.  This Curly Top set is Illustration #3 and she was issued in 1940.  This doll came in either a Blonde version or the Auburn version which is this set.  The paper doll is 9 inches tall and the built in stand for the doll has been creased or bent to help the doll stand on her own.  The clothing for this doll too is much different than the later clothes as these are paper and are NOT MARKED AS WASHABLE.  The clothing though is still the wrap-around style so the clothing is both on front and the back of the paper doll.
The doll is in great condition and the clothing for her is ALL UNCUT!!  The original box does have some condition issues as the lid has a tear on each side flap of the lid.  The base of the box also has tears on each of the side flaps.
