    Description

Hi!  This is my 1940 DOUBLE DATE PAPER DOLLS BOOK Auction.  Most of my collection I purchased in the 70s, 80s, and 90s, but a few more in the early 200s so even though I'm pretty sure this set is ORIGINAL, I'm not ruling out REPRINT because I'm not an expert, just a collector.
1940 DOUBLE DATE PAPER DOLLS BOOK is in UNCUT Condition (Pics.1 thru 12 - both covers inside and out, clothes pages, spine views).  All pages and covers have yellowed/darkened with age (this set is 81 years old!) - small parts of it has deteriorated (Pics.3,7,9,10 thru 12 some examples).  With limited pictures I have tried to point out the most fragile/deteriorated sections so you have an idea of how fragile this set is.
Front Cover:  One Uncut Paper Doll named Dotti (Pic.1) - Overall shopworn cover especially on all four of the corners (Pics.1,2) with the lower left corner the worse of the deterioration (Pics.1,3) which extends throughout the book pages and back cover (Pics.4,8,9,10) - right lower corner has a couple of creases and tends to bend inwards (Pics1,2).   On the top left it says "1723" (Pic.1) - on the lower bottom in very small print it says "Copyright MCMLVII by THE SAALFIELD PUB. CO., AKRON, O. MADE IN U.S.A." (Pic.2).  On the lower right is the SAALFIELD Logo (Pics.1,2).
Inside Front Cover:  Overall shopworn especially on the edges/corners - very slight deterioration due to fragility (Pic.4) - lower right hand corner shows the bottom missing pieces on both the cover and the bottom of the first paper doll clothes page (Pic.4) - both inside cover and clothes page show the yellowed/darkened color they have become, but the clothes page colors are very vivid, in my opinion (Pic.4).
Back Cover:  Three Uncut Paper Dolls named Bud, Peg, and Bill (Pic.5) - overall shopworn cover with some stain/marks (Pic.5) - especially on the top left corner section there is a tiny rip with stains to the left of the back of Bud's head (Pics.6,7) - bottom left corner with tiny creases and deterioration (Pic.5) and the bottom right corner also shows tiny creases and deterioration (Pic.5).  There is a small hole above the nail of Peg's head (Pics.5,6).
Inside Back Cover: Overall shopworn especially on the edges/corners - you can see the two holes mentioned on the Back Cover description a little more clearer here - one midway towards the top and the other to the right of that near the edge (Pic.8) - at the bottom right the corner is there with stain and creases - plus to the right of that on the back clothes page is the section that is missing (Pics.8,9) - NOTE:  this section that is missing goes through ALL the clothes pages and the front cover (Pics.1 thru 5, 8 thru 10).  Clothes Page to the right all the edges are very fragile and deteriorate to the touch, but the clothes colors are bright as the clothes page is yellowed/darkened with age as the inside back cover (Pics.8,9).
There are four pages of Uncut Clothing - each Paper Doll has his/her own page of clothes (Pics.4,8,10).
