Vintage Columbian 204 1/2 M2 Swivel Bench Vise 4 1/2” with Original Pipe Jaws.
Old school Metal! The original Columbian Vise Co. in Cleveland, OH prided themselves on building a stronger, heavier and solid vise. This vise has no welds, cracks or repairs of any kind. This vise was purchased from the estate of a former maintenance employee of the Colombian vise company (note that MAINT has been engraved towards the back of the slide - photo attached).
4 1/2” jaws on this Machinist vise are sharp, have lots of bite and close square and tight. This vise also includes the original pipe jaws in excellent, like new condition. Most of these vises are missing the pipe jaws after all these years. This is the only one I’ve seen that has the original pipe jaws and hex screws! Vise operates smoothly, can turn the handle with one finger. Locks up tight! No side to side movement. Please note that the handle does have a bend in it, which does not affect function.
Cleaned, wire wheeled and polished to a brilliant shine for a beautiful natural metal finish. A light coating of oil has been applied. Swivel works flawlessly without any binding or rough spots. Swivel handle is straight. This is a beautiful example of old school American craftsmanship. Heavy! Weighs approximately 60 pounds. Add to your collection or put to use today!
