Description

"Barbie and Ken", is Whitman #4797 and was published in 1962.  This is a rare boxed set that does not come up for sale very often.  Of all the Barbie paper doll sets that I've sold, this one is my favorite since it has so many of the early 1960's fashions that were created for the doll.  The box has the usual storage wear but is in good condition for it's age.  There is some light pencil writing on the back of the box. The stands aren't original, I replaced them.  The Ken doll is perfect (of course) and Barbie has a crease under her chin.  The fashions are in good, gently played with condition and are near complete. This is the beautiful art of Al Anderson who did most of the 1962 and 1963 Barbie paper doll sets.  His art is easily recognizable by the way that he did Barbie's eyes. For the age (58 years old!!), this set in good, used condition.
Please see photos for content and condition. All of the paper dolls that I offer are from estates and from other homes.  I don't know the previous storage history.  My collection is kept in a smoke/pet free area of my home with a dehumidifier running 24/7.  I have a poor sense of smell at my age and am unable to detect odors.  People smoked way back when, so that could linger and I would not be aware of it.  I try and list all of the flaws with any paper dolls that I sell.
I only ship to the USA.  This set is heavier then the folders I usually mail, so I'm having to charge more in shipping.
