    Description

    "Victoria Lady of Fashion" is the incredible art work of Barbara Barnett ( Jones Sister) and Barbara Plummer.   This piece is undated but I'm guessing that it was done in the 1990's.  This entire set is hand made, hand painted and is one of a kind!!!  Wallpaper was used to piece together the beautiful and vividly colored gowns for the doll.  Each costume is wallpaper and then the rest of it  is done in hand art on paper to complete it.  I show a photo of the backs of 2 of the gowns to illustrate this.  Usually a small envelope of accessories was included to add to each costume.  They come in a folio of wallpaper that compliments the theme of the doll.  The sets that I have measure about 9" x 6" and the doll is 7.5" tall.  This set has some marks where the ink was stuck and I had to patiently pull them apart but with no damage.  I just can't imagine the time, love and patience that it took to create a single set of these paper dolls!!!   This particular set has 4 hand made gowns, an envelope of accessories and 2 black and white costume to color and cut for the doll. These were known as the "Off The Wall" sets and are VERY hard to find, making them highly collectable!!!
    I've bought my huge collection from estate sales and from other collectors on eBay.  I don't know the previous storage history.  My collection is stored in a smoke/pet free area in my home, with a dehumidifier running 24/7.  People did smoke back then, I have a poor sense of smell at my age, and I don't know if that lingers.  I try to list all flaws with the paper dolls that I sell.
