Description
An nice older Wilton bullet style vise from 1973. (2-73 date code) These were called mechanics vises. I believe Wilton now calls this line of vises Tradesman. Correct me if I'm wrong.Purchased recently from the estate of a local gentleman. I removed the front jaw and applied a little grease on the threads and round arm. Other than that it's in as-found condition. It operates in and out very smoothly with just one finger. I've owned and restored several Wilton bullets and this is probably the smoothest. The front jaw is broken off at the screw hole, and one small corner of the front pipe jaw is missing.
The front handle is not bent, and the small lock down handles are not bent. The swivel base and lock downs work well. The vise weighs about 29 lb.
This one should clean up nicely and should be a great user with a new set of jaws. I think you can get by using the pipe jaws as they are. They seem to grip pretty good even with the missing corner piece. I will also include four 2 1/2 x 1/2" lag bolts for mounting on your bench.
I will package the vise carefully and I ship promptly.
